Sergei Soloviev

Classical dance teacher at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (France) since 1997.

Born in Moscow, Russia, Sergei Soloviev joins the corps of Bolshoi Ballet at age 19, before becoming first soloist in 1981. He was taught by such professors as Galina Ulanova, Assaf Messerer and Marina Semionova. Among other roles, Soloviev danced Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, the Prince and Rothbart in Swan Lake, Don Juan in Amour d'Amour with such prestigious dancers as Maya Plissetskaya, Ekaterina Maximova, Vladimir Vassiliev, among others.

From 1989 on, he starts teaching, first at the Bolshoi then abroad, with the idea to transmit and participate in the evolution of Russian Ballet teaching. Mr. Soloviev has taught at Cincinnati Ballet, Universal Ballet Company (South Korea), Vienna StaatsOper (Austria) and La Scala School of Dance (Italy). Currently, he teaches classical dance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (France).
