Juhyun Jo
Jo Ju-Hyun is a distinguished ballet educator and choreographer, currently a Professor of Ballet at the School of Dance Performance, Korea National University of Arts (K-Arts). She is also the Director of the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts.
Jo Ju-Hyun completed her Bachelor of Arts in Ballet from the Korea National University of Arts and her Master’s degree from Seoul National University.
She is a former Principal dancer with The Washington Ballet, Jo Ju-Hyun received prestigious awards, including the 2024 Critics of Dance Award – Work of the Year for her choreography <Ballet × Sujecheon>, praised for its seamless fusion of Korean tradition and Western ballet with elegance and precision. She won the Grand Prize for Choreography at the 29th Seoul Dance Festival in 2008 and was honored with the Best Ballet Master Award at the 2016 “Arabesque”, Russia’s Open Ballet Competition.
She also currently serves as Artistic Director of the Seoul International Dance Competition and the Korea World Dance Stars Festival.
