Amy Brandt
Amy Brandt is editor in chief of Pointe. A native of Libertyville, Illinois, she received her initial dance training at Dancenter North and later on full scholarship at the Milwaukee Ballet School. She went on to dance professionally with the Milwaukee Ballet and The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, among others, performing repertoire that included 19th century classics and works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Antony Tudor, Frederick Ashton, and Alonzo King. She also performed in honor of Ms. Farrell at the nationally televised 2005 Kennedy Center Honors. In 2009, Amy began writing Pointe magazine‘s “Ask Amy” advice column; she joined its editorial staff after retiring from her performance career and was appointed editor in chief in 2014. She has a degree in English and World Literatures from Marymount Manhattan College.
