Alexander Kedrov
Former Bolshoi, Boston, Memphis Ballet soloist, co-founder of Siberian Swan Pointe/Ballet Shoes, software engineer, song-writer. Graduated from Moscow Choreographic Institute, and joined the world-renowned Bolshoi Ballet Theater under the directorship of Yuri Grigorovich. Toured the world extensively with the Bolshoi Ballet Company.
Mr. Kedrov repertoire included wide range of the solo and leading roles in classical and contemporary productions, some of which were shown on TV and video filmed such as Spartacus, Ivan the Terrible, Romeo and Juliette, Legend of Love, and many others. First performer of the title role in ballet “Little Prince” by G. Mayorov, with whom he later worked in Tokyo, Japan as a guest artist.
By Leonid, and Valentina Kozlov’s invitation, Mr. Kedrov took a part in “Stars of Ballet” tour in Taiwan where he performed in Walpurgis night, Balanchine’s Tschaikovsky Pas de Deux, and Flames of Paris.
In 1990, after the Bolshoi Ballet USA Tour, Mr. Kedrov was invited to join Boston Ballet company as a soloist under the direction of Bruce Marks, and Anna-Marie Holmes, where he had a chance to work with known Western choreographers, and broaden his repertoire.
Mr. Kedrov was the first cast to portray the role of Prodigal Son role in Memphis Ballet production 1993.His dancing has drawn rave reviews around the country. Critics praise his power, leaps, talent and passion.
Mr Kerdov has participated in many gala concerts, tours such as Ballet Gala "Glastnost" in 1992, "Stars of Russian Ballet" 1994 tour in Germany by Michael Tietz, Ballet Gala in Toronto in honor of Alla Osipenko - the Legend of Kirov Ballet, partnering Amanda McKerrow in Giselle.
In 1994 Mr. Kedrov was non-competing partner in Jackson Ballet competition.
In 1995 he was first to stage “Nayada and Fishermen” ballet in Japan on Myaki Dance Theater in Tokyo, and conducted daily classes.
In 1996 Mr. Kenji Usui invited Mr. Kedrov to join Russia Ballet Institute in Tokyo, Japan for their annual Gala concert where he performed Diana and Acteon, and "Tchaikovsky Grand Pas" by Genrich Mayorov.
In 1996 he was invited to choreograph and participate as a featured artist in various fragments from American Musicals with Jean Ann Ryan Productions Co. on the Asuka Cruise Ship in Japan. Mr. Kedrov has also been guest teacher with many various ballet schools, teaching ballet, character dance, repertoire, variations, pas de deux. Worked as a Guest teacher with "Dance Masters of America, Inc" and "Copley School" in Massachusetts, "Tagart Ballet" in California, "Ballet and Friends" in Arizona, National Ballet of Maryland", "Memphis Classical Ballet", "Miyaki Ballet", Tokyo, Japan, and others
AWARDS: 1997 Mr. Kedrov is recipient of Individual Artist Fellowship Dance Award of Arts Commission of Tennessee.
